About
We research. We build. We operate
We build technological ecosystems for the sectors that sustain humanity, with field research as our starting point.
Manifesto
Build the sober, sovereign, enduring technological ecosystem that lets humanity grow on Earth.
The farm, the corral, the clinic, and the mine keep the world running. The technology they use is rarely designed for their real conditions, and almost never built to last in them. We build it alongside the people who live the problem, with field research, product that operates where connectivity is intermittent, and operation that keeps it alive in the sector.
Values
Four institutional principles
Investigate before asserting
If we don't have data, we say so. We don't build on assumptions.
Build for real conditions
Low connectivity, low banking access, high informality. If it doesn't work there, it doesn't work.
The subject has a name and a trade
Farmer, doctor, rancher, operator. We don't design for users. We design for people.
Publish what we know
Research is public by default. Credibility is earned through transparency.
Model
How we work
We translate our research into technological ecosystems. Each ecosystem covers a sector: agriculture, livestock, healthcare, or mining. Inside each, we build the products and agents the sector needs to operate at the level of what it sustains. The four share technical infrastructure and method. That is why they are one: the technological ecosystem of Grind Labs.
Three lab actions
How Grind Labs operates
We investigate
We go to the field, the corral, the clinic and the mine. Each study closes with a public dossier documenting findings, method and limitations.
We build
When research justifies a new ecosystem, the lab builds it. Products, agents, and brand are designed for the subject who lives the problem.
We operate
Each ecosystem operates with its own team inside the lab. Its products and agents are tuned in production, against evidence from the sector they serve.
